All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
I hope you are as grateful as I am that God did not just leave us on earth to do life on our own. Our Creator, who knows His perfect plans and intententions for mankind, did not forget to leave us without an instruction manual! Just like a child doesn’t innately know what is best, God knew that left to ourselves we would tend to make a mess of things!
His word is His love to you and I…..giving us examples of what it means to walk with Him, what is possible if we choose to follow His lead, and on the flip side, what we can expect if we try to do things our own way. He didn’t leave any stone uncovered for us, but instead shows us His heart, and His path of salvation for our souls through Christ Jesus.
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a list on my path.
Psalm 119:105
As children of God, our hearts should be fully given to the Word of God. As we read, we should not just take those precious words lightly, but rather, we should hold each word close, soak them in with gratitude, and pursue what God is saying to us as we read.
As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him.
Daughter of the King, the Word of God is the perfect lamp. There is no “how to” that the world can give us that will cause us to flourish like His word. His ways and His instructions are there to light our way. As we choose to take heed and apply His word to our lives, we are transformed. We learn let go of the things that weigh us down, to genuinely love, to stand firm in our faith, and to live the abundant life that God Himself intended for us to live.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
James 1:22
So, let’s dive into the Word of God together. Let’s seek understanding, knowledge, and wisdom. Let’s be doers of His word not mere hearers, and then watch and see how God Himself transforms us, and everything that we put our hearts and hands to!
